Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Thumka works without an account. There is no sign-up, no login, no profile, and no server holding your videos. Thumka does not ask for your name, email, or phone number. This policy explains the little data that does exist, and where it goes.

Your videos never leave your device

Every video you import — from your photo library, your files, a share from another app, or a direct link — is stored locally in Thumka's own storage on your device. Your imported video content, filenames, loop boundaries, AI pose results, and exact practice history are not uploaded to Thumka, Google Analytics, RevenueCat, or another analytics service. When you import a direct link, Thumka contacts that address and any redirect hosts only to download the video, so those hosts receive the normal network request; Thumka does not send the link to its own server or an analytics service. The current iOS release does not upload product analytics. On Android, Google ML Kit performs pose detection on the device; Google documents that ML Kit sends limited operational information described below, not the video or detected pose.

What we do collect

DataWhat it isLinked to you?
On-device activity log The current iOS and Android releases do not configure Firebase product analytics. Thumka keeps a small, bounded and sanitized recent-activity log on your device so an issue report can say which screen or feature was in use. It is written only after an app action, not from video frames, camera frames, playback timers, or a background network job. It stays on your device unless you deliberately attach and send it in an issue report. It contains no account, advertising identifier, billing identifier, filename, path, URL, video identifier, media, pose result, exact playback position, or free-form error.
Diagnostics The current iOS and Android releases do not use Firebase Crashlytics and do not automatically upload Thumka crash stack traces. On Android, Google ML Kit may collect device and app information, performance metrics, API configuration, feature input and output sizes, event types, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics when AI Steps pose detection is used. Google says this data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. Apple or Google may also provide aggregated store diagnostics under their own privacy controls. ML Kit uses per-installation identifiers not intended to identify a person or physical device. The optional Thumka support attachment is associated with the email you choose to send; it is not sent in the background and can be removed before sending.
Configuration Thumka's product settings are bundled with the app. The current iOS and Android releases do not configure Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or product Remote Config. Google documents that Android ML Kit Pose Detection internally uses Firebase Remote Config and Firebase Installations for remote-configuration diagnostics. This limited ML Kit configuration data is associated with an app installation, not a Thumka account, name, email, advertising identifier, or video.
Purchase records Whether Pro is active on this device. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and recorded by RevenueCat, our billing provider, under an anonymous ID that RevenueCat generates itself (it looks like $RCAnonymousID:…). Thumka does not choose or supply that ID and does not attach an email or any other detail to it. Not by us. Apple or Google knows the purchase belongs to your store account, because they took the payment. RevenueCat sees only the anonymous ID and the store receipt.
Free-import count A single number records how many videos have been imported on the device. It is stored locally on both iOS and Android and may also be included in the device's ordinary app backup. Thumka does not send an Android ID, Apple device identifier, or Play Integrity token to a quota service. It is local app state, not linked to a name, account, contact detail, or advertising identifier.

We never sell your data and never use it for advertising. RevenueCat processes purchase status only to provide and restore Pro access. Thumka disables RevenueCat's automatic device-identifier collection and diagnostics. Thumka does not use Apple's Advertising Identifier or Android's Advertising ID, and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because we do not track you across other apps or websites. Google's current ML Kit disclosure is available at developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure.

Support requests

Thumka has no ticket system and stores no email address in the app. When you tap Report an issue by email in Settings, Thumka opens an editable draft in your chosen email app. The draft includes your app version and, when available, an anonymous billing reference that lets us find a purchase problem. It also offers a small text attachment with app/device status, current thermal and Low Power state, and a bounded list of recent app-owned screen or feature events. The attachment never includes your videos, filenames, paths, URLs, photo identifiers, billing or installation identifiers, or raw analytics. Nothing is sent automatically. You can read or edit the draft, remove the attachment, or discard the report. If you send it, we receive your email address and the material you chose to include in the ordinary way that emailing someone gives them your address. We use support reports only to answer and diagnose the issue, not for advertising or tracking.

Payment information

All purchases go through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Thumka never sees or stores your card number, billing address, or any payment details — the stores handle that entirely.

Your choices

Children

Thumka isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 5, 2026

On iPhone and iPad these terms supplement Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of Thumka; where the two conflict, Apple's EULA governs your license to use the app itself. On Android, Google Play's terms apply in the same way. These terms cover the specifics of Thumka's features and purchases.

Using Thumka

Thumka is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use — importing and practicing with your own dance videos. You agree not to reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app, and not to use it to process content you don't have the right to use.

Your content stays yours

Videos you import remain entirely your property. Thumka claims no rights over them — they're stored locally on your device and we never access them.

The free allowance

Thumka is free to use for your first five video imports on a device. Imports, not videos: the count goes up when an import succeeds and never comes back down, so deleting a video does not return an import. A cancelled or failed import doesn't count, and the sample clip Thumka ships with doesn't either. The count is kept locally on both iOS and Android and may be restored by ordinary device backup. Pro removes the limit.

This is a permanent free allowance, not a trial. Nothing expires and nothing starts billing you on its own.

Purchases

No warranty

Thumka is provided "as is." We work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent allowed by law, Thumka isn't liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.

Ending your use

You can stop using Thumka at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend access for uses that violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continuing to use Thumka after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Support

jakhotiamayuresh@gmail.com

Usually a reply within a day or two.

Email us →

Thumka has no account and no support queue — just this address. Tapping Report an issue by email in Settings opens an editable draft or the system chooser with a sanitized Thumka-Diagnostics.txt attachment. Nothing is sent until you choose a mail app and press Send. You can edit the message, remove the attachment, or discard it.

Common questions

Does my dance video ever leave my phone?
No. Everything is stored locally in the app. There's no server to upload to.
Do I need an account?
There isn't one. No sign-up, no login, no password, nothing to lose access to.
I bought Pro on Android. Do I get it on my iPhone too?
No. Purchases are specific to the store you bought from, because Thumka has no account to carry them across. An Android purchase unlocks Pro on Android; an iPhone purchase unlocks Pro on iPhone.
I got a new phone. How do I get Pro back?
Sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with, then Settings → Restore purchases. You won't be charged again. This works between devices on the same platform.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Thumka → Cancel. Android: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Thumka → Cancel. It stays active until the current billing period ends.
I bought Lifetime — will I ever be charged again?
No. Lifetime and Founding Lifetime are one-time purchases with no renewal.
How do I get my five free imports back?
The local count never goes down when you delete a video. An ordinary device backup may restore it when the app is restored. Pro removes the limit entirely.
How do I delete my videos and practice data?
Settings → Delete Library & Practice Data. It removes the videos on the device plus loop sections, AI Steps, local diagnostics and practice history. Your purchase is unaffected, and the free-import count stays where it is.
Does Thumka upload analytics?
The current iOS and Android releases do not run Firebase product analytics. Their small app-owned diagnostic timeline stays on the device and leaves only if you deliberately include it in an issue report. On Android, the Google ML Kit SDK used for on-device pose detection sends limited installation, configuration, performance, event, and error diagnostics as described above; it does not receive your video or pose results.
